poker
The Ultimate Nerd asked:

They say that playing poker is gambling. That there is too much chance in it.
Well, why in the heck do they allow horse betting? Seems you have 0% chance to affect the outcome. Seems 100% chance.
At least Poker does have some skill, otherwise how can someone win tournaments more than 1 time.
I am confused by why they allow one and not the other?
Thanks for any clarification you all can provide.

  1. Paladin Says:

    1) tradition

    2) lack of control = no taxes

  2. laughter_every_day Says:

Poker is harder to tax and regulate.

  3. eilonwy82971 Says:

It’s not that Gov. Beshear is against gambling. “The governor has said the sites create ways for children to gamble; undermine horse racing by creating untaxed competition; make it easier to launder money; and lack consumer protections to ensure that people actually receive their winnings.”
