Dan asked:

I have used many online poker sites in the past, but I took a break as I’d rather see who I am playing than just clicking a mouse.

But I’ve decided to deposit some cash and build a roll again. The only problem is the sites that allow US players won’t accept my VISA card. Are any of you out there familiar with the options many sites utilize for making cash deposits? If so, which are safe to use? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can deposit into sites like fulltilt ( review at )
with e-check. This is the best method for USA players to deposit money.

By far the easiest way is to go buy a Visa / Mastercard gift card from a store like Walgreens. Those cards work just fine on any of the major online poker sites that take American players.

It is of course completely safe, because once you have made the deposit, the card is dead and even if you were worried about the number being stolen (which isn’t an issue on major sites), it’s just a gift card.

I’d say it’s about as safe and convenient as you could want.

There’s three alternative ways that full tilt offers other than by card, these are:

    NETELLER
    MONEYBOOKERS
    CASH TRANSFER

I’d suggest setting up an account with either NETELLER or MONEYBOOKERS as these places are safe, plus with a cash transfer the minimum deposit is $250.

Don’t forget if you’re playing for money you can earn RAKEBACK - whereby you receive a percentage of the money back that you put into a poker site. It’s well worth it!

There are few options available to US residents these days, but the ones out there DO work well. Sites like Full Tilt and PokerStars give the player to use an Instant E-Check. With this option, your funds are credited to your account immediately, and are withdrawn from your checking account.

If you do not have a checking account, or do not want to use one, you can always use a Visa Prepaid Gift Card. Be aware, that some of them don’t work, as they have similar filters that your debit card might have, thus rejecting the transactions. I’ve personally used Visa All Access Gift Cards with success. However, a bevvy of others (such as “Green Dot” and “Vanilla”) have been rejected.

Check for a list of common methods you can use from the US to deposit and withdraw at poker sites. You’ll also find bonus codes to each site’s best bonus. Hope this helps.
